There are two main types of Dentures: Full and Partial.
Conventional Full Denture
A Conventional Full Denture is worn by patients who are missing all of their teeth in one arch (i.e. the maxillary (upper) or mandibular (lower) arch).
The Dentures may be fitted once all tissues have been healed. With Full Dentures, a flesh-coloured acrylic base fits over your gums. The base of the Upper Denture covers the roof of your mouth (palate) and the Lower Denture is shaped to accommodate for your tongue.
Full Dentures take into consideration tooth color, position and structure to recreate a beautiful smile.
Partial Denture
Partial Dentures are for patients who are missing some of their teeth on a particular arch within the mouth.
A Partial Denture rests on metal framework that is attached to your natural teeth. In some cases, Crowns may be placed on some of your natural teeth and serve as anchors to the Denture. Partial Dentures offer a removable alternative to Bridges.
